Dismantling and re-erecting the Dome

Subsequent dismantling and re-installation will take approximately ½ a day with 3-4 persons. The membrane is folded onto a mobile trolley on castors which is then rolled off court into the storage area and covered with a tarpaulin if a shed is not provided. The wire ropes are best coiled up or removed completely to the storage area and covered up. The fans and the revolving door can also be removed from site if required.

If there is a concern of a trip hazard caused by the exposed anchor eyes during summer, they can be covered by a wooden channel or a plastic version from Covair. It is inadvisable to remove these eyes due to difficulties experienced in re-installing them.

For clubs wishing to erect a dome over existing courts with a limited amount of perimeter space, ground anchors can possibly be used in place of a concrete ring-beam. There is far less disruption and no dig to dispose of. Costs are similar, but we would need to be informed of any buried services.

Dismantling and re-erection can be carried out either by Covair or the club.
